If a cat drinks blue toilet water they could become sick from the chemicals and could get digestive issues or other poisoning which can make the cat extremely sick or die.

The same is true if a dog drinks blue toilet water they can also get sick and eventually die so they should not be allowed to drink the toilet water whether blue or not.

Dogs like toilet bowl water as the toilet bowl water is often cold and is refreshed every time the toilet is flushed.

The water in a toilet bowl is also sometimes in motion if the toilet has just been flushed and the moving water in the toilet bowl can also be appealing for dogs.

Drinking toilet water is not good for your dog especially if you use toilet bowl cleaners as the chemicals can cause issues in the dog and could make the dog sick.

It is bad for dogs to drink toilet water.

Drinking toilet water isn't a harmless habit for dogs, and there can be real consequences.

By ignoring the problem of your dog drinking toilet bowl water, your dog runs the risk of picking up germs or, worse, becoming extremely ill.

When you use a toilet tank tablet, the blue tablet in the toilet can emit chemicals non-stop, harming yourself, your family, your pets and the environment.

And if you have a dog or cat that likes to drink from the toilet (despite your telling them not to), consuming this chemically treated water in excess may harm them.

If your dog drinks toilet water you should watch your dog for changes in appetite, dropping food, vomiting, drooling, or pawing at the mouth, any of which could indicate irritation of the mouth, esophagus, or stomach.

If your dog has any of these signs, is lethargic, or has blood in their poop, they should be seen by a veterinarian immediately.

No pet, dog or cat, should rely on toilet bowl water for their water source.

If your dog or cat or other pet is simply curious, keep the lid down.

They could accidentally lap up human waste, chemically treated toilet bowl water or lingering bathroom cleaner all of which are sure to make your pet ill.
