Windex is bad for dogs if they ingest the Windex or if the Windex comes into contact with the dogs skin or eyes.
Using Windex around the dog is okay as long as they don't get it in their eyes or on their skin or ingest it.
You can safely use Windex around dogs for cleaning.
The main issue with Windex when being harmful to dogs is the ammonia which can cause burning and irritation of the dogs mouth, throat and respiratory tract.
Ingestion of the Windex can also lead to diarrhea, vomiting and other issues.
Windex contains ingredients which include ammonia, ammonium hydroxide, 2-hexoxyethanol, and isopropanolamine which are toxic to dogs if ingested.
And inhaling of Windex vapor can also cause irritation and burns to the dogs respiratory tract, stomach and mouth.
If the dog ingests any Windex they may experience symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, excessive drooling, disorientation and even lethargy.
Make sure that you store the Windex and other cleaning products out of your dogs and children's reach and to always thoroughly rinse any surfaces that your dog may come into contact with after you use the Windex or other cleaning products.
