Most boils will eventually pop open on their own and do avoid popping the boil with a needle because popping the boil with a needle could lead to an infection and make the boil worse.
You can however help a boil pop much faster by applying a warm compress to the boil and also soak the boil in some warm water and by doing this it will help the puss in the boil rise to the surface faster which can help the boil pop.
When the boil does drain take some antibacterial soap and wash off the puss and clean the area around the boil and then clean it with rubbing alcohol.
