But the time when a woman is most likely to get pregnant usually happens within a few days of when the woman's period ends.
Further more the sperm can also fertilize the woman's egg for 72 hours or for 3 days after ejaculation.
So yes you can get pregnant within a week after your period but it's best to try for the baby a few days after your period since you're the most fertile during that time.
If you wait more than 6 days after your period to try and have a baby then your chances are less.
