Hose water can have bacteria and so it's advised to not drink water from a garden hose.

If you do drink hose water or water from the hose you should run the hose for a few minutes or so to flush out any potential bacteria.

Most people are fine though drinking hose water as long as the hose has been flushed out and as long as the hose has not been in contact with feces or other germs.

If a hose has been used to flush out a sewer or black tank on an RV then don't use it to drink water from.

Use a separate hose for drinking water and a separate hose for flushing out the black water tank or hoses that are used for being in contact with animal water tanks etc.
