The stages of starvation are stage one, stage two and stage three.

Stage one of starvation is when your body begins to break down the stored fat and protein in order to maintain blood sugar levels after you miss a meal.

Stage two of starvation is when your body relies on the stored fat for energy, which is a process that can last for weeks.

Stage three of starvation is when your body breaks down muscle and bone tissue for nergy and is often fatal.

What happens during starvation is.

After one day your body's glucose reserves are depleted.

After two to three days of starvation your body begins to break down fatty tissue.

After seven days your body switches to protein.

After 14 days of starvation your body begins to lose heart function, kidney function and liver function.

And in the late stages of starvation people may start to experience hallucinations, disruptions in heart rhythm and convulsions and eventually death.
