A weeping diaper rash is a diaper rash that is accompanied by weeping fluid which oozes out of the skins rash.

Weeping in medical terms is any injury or skin condition that produces excessive fluid during the healing or from inflammation.

Weeping can occur in pressure ulcers and breakdown of the skin due to consistent pressure on one area of the body.

A weeping diaper rash can be caused by a yeast infection, bacterial infection or irritant dermatitis or not changing diapers often enough.

Weeping diaper rashes can also occur when the baby or toddler has an allergic reaction to the diaper material or chemicals in the diapers.

Irritant dermatitis is the most common cause of diaper rash.

Symptoms of irritant dermatitis include mild redness or painful areas of the skin which are peeling, raised or weeping.

A bacterial infection like impetigo can cause diaper rash.

The signs of a bacterial infection include bright red skin around the anus, yellow crusting, weeping or pimples.

A yeast infection can also caused a diaper rash that is bright red, raw, weepy and has sharp borders.

The yeast diaper rash may also start out mild and then become more irritated over a couple of days and red dots or even pustules may also appear.

You can treat a weeping diaper rash by applying some Zinc oxide or petroleum jelly to the diaper area or use some Calendula, Aloe Vera or witch hazel for the diaper rash.
