Freezing your credit card or debit card does not stop any pending transactions from going through.

As long as you had the funds in the account then the pending transactions that were pending before you froze the card will almost always go through.

Locking or freezing a credit card or debit card does not impact transactions already completed and pending finalization.

Freezing or locking your credit or debit card will prevent further transactions from going through but not those pending.

If you lost or had your credit card or debit card stolen you should lock or freeze your credit card or debit card to prevent unauthorized transactions from going through.

Freezing your card immediately suspends any activity for the card and will not allow new purchases, cash advances, or any reoccurring payments to process until you unfreeze the card.

Credits such as returns and payments will however still post to your card even though it is frozen.

While your card is frozen, charges identified by the merchant as existing recurring charges will still be processed as normal.

In order to stop a recurring charge on a frozen card, you'll need to reach out to the merchant directly.

You won't be able to set up new recurring card charges until you unfreeze your card.
