Yelling at your kid can indeed cause anxiety in a child.

I remember my parents used to yell at me which they thought would make me behave but it made things worse and I started to fear my parents.

When a child gets out of line you need to try and calmly defuse the situation without yelling.

Yelling doesn't make you get your point across to your child and in fact it causes the opposite effect.

Children will sometimes act up and/or act out to get attention from their parents or caregiver and if you don't give them the attention then sometimes they will stop acting up.

Sometimes you do need to resort to spanking though and grounding the child and taking things away from the child or sending the child to bed earlier as a punishment.

Although I understand that it's hard not to yell at your child you should always avoid yelling at the child if at all possible.
