Can I drive an unregistered vehicle to the dealership?

I have a car that's unregistered that I want to trade in on a new car. I don't want to register it just so I can drive it to trade it in.

The dealership is 3 minutes away from my house.

Can I drive this car to the dealership without tags?

I wouldn't chance it. It'd be cheaper to get it towed to the car dealership than it would be to pay fines and get your vehicle out of impound.
