As preventive maintenance you should replace your cars battery every 3 to 5 years.
If your battery is 5 years or older you really should replace the battery with a new one or have it replaced with a new one.
A 5 year old battery is about at the end of it's life and could leave you stranded on the side of the road or somewhere else.
Never wait until your battery is completely dead and you're stranded.
The $100.00 or so you spend every 3 to 5 years to make sure you have a good battery and not be stranded is worth every penny and it's cheaper than getting your vehicle towed.
