Sometimes a tooth abscess will go away on it's own within a few days without antibiotics or other dental treatment.
But it depends on how severe the tooth abscess is. If you have a tooth abscess most of the abscessed tooth symptoms should start to go away within a couple days and the tooth abscess should be fully healed within 5 to 7 days.
If your tooth abscess gets worse or doesn't go away after 7 days you need to see a dentist because your tooth could be much more severely infected and will need antibiotics and other dental treatment to fix the tooth abscess.
