You're certainly not the only person who gets depressed when it's cloudy and rainy as I'm one of those people too.

It's very cloudy out right now and has been raining yesterday too. It's not raining right now but it's supposed to again and when it does get cloudy out and rainy out it makes me want to stay in bed during those days.

It makes it very hard for me to drag myself out of bed because the rain and cloudiness also makes me feel sleepy along with depressed.

When the sun is shining I feel wonderful and energized and happy but cloudy and rainy days bring me down.

Some people feel more energized when it's cloudy and rainy but not for me.

I do use a Therapy Lamp when at my desk working from home and it helps quite a bit to lift my mood and boost my energy levels when it's cloudy and rainy out.

I work from home so I don't have to leave my house to go to a job and can just fall back asleep if I don't feel like working that day.

However I mostly continue to work to earn some money even though I blog and I still make money working from home whenever I'm asleep but I still really need to write content to keep my blog going and get more search traffic.

Plus my regular readers to my blog would not come back eventually if I stopped writing and publishing more content on a regular basis like I do.

As to why cloudy and rainy days make us depressed it's likely because of the sun not shining and charging our bodies batteries back up with the Vitamins we get from the sun.

The sun provides much needed Vitamins to our bodies so without that sun or bodies don't get those vitamins and we feel drained.

Another reason for cloudy and rainy days making a person depressed is because of the Sunlight.

The sunlight has the power to tell your body to release more serotonin.

Serotonin is known as A "happiness hormone”.

Serotonin is what lifts our moods, gives us more energy and increases our concentration.

Low levels of serotonin is one of the typical symptoms of depression and the mental illness.

So when it’s raining a lot and you don’t get enough sunlight, that can lower your serotonin levels and trigger what we call “seasonal affective disorder” (SAD), a type of depression that comes when the seasons change.

Buy yourself a Therapy Light and it should help boost your energy and mood during cloudy and rainy days like it does for me.
