While bananas are good for your health the bananas are not very good for kidneys due to the high potassium.

If you already have kidney issues or kidney disease the potassium in the bananas could make the kidney issues worse.

Eating bananas in moderation though when your kidneys are healthy is okay and good for you.

The 1 worst drink for your kidneys is carbonated sodas including diet and regular sodas which can increase your risk of chronic kidney disease when consumed in excess or daily.

Drinking carbonated sodas in moderation is okay as long as you drink water, tea and other healthy drinks.

Even energy drinks when consumed in excess have been linked to kidney stones and kidney disease.

The vitamins that cleanse your kidneys are Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B2 as well as magnesium.

Taking these vitamins can help to keep your kidneys healthy and cleansed.

Drinking a lot of water and staying properly hydrated can go a long way in keeping your kidneys healthy.

A common cause of kidney failure is actually being dehydrated and not drinking enough water.

Drinking a lot of water does help to keep your kidneys healthy as drinking water helps to flush toxins out of your kidneys and bod and helps your kidneys remove waste products from your blood.

Water also helps keep your blood vessels open so that blood can travel freely to your kidneys, and deliver essential nutrients to them.

Whilst all fluid counts towards your fluid intake, water is one of the healthiest choices when it comes to maintaining kidney health.

Sip water little and often.

Women should aim to drink eight 200ml glasses of fluid a day.

Men should aim to drink ten 200ml glasses of fluid a day.

The most common cause of kidney failure is diabetes.

Although kidney failure can be caused by several other things such as.

Blood or fluid loss.
Blood pressure medications.
Heart attack.
Heart disease.
Infection.
Liver failure.
Use of aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others), naproxen sodium (Aleve, others) or related drugs.

When your kidneys stop working your kidneys will be unable to filter the waste in the blood and so your body may swell, your urine output will be less and your body fills with extra water and waste products.

Your hands or feet may swell and you will feel tired and weak because your body needs clean blood to function properly.

When your kidneys are failing your urine will most often be a tea colored or light brown color.

When kidneys are failing, the increased concentration and accumulation of substances in urine lead to a darker color which may be brown, red or purple.

The color change is due to abnormal protein or sugar, high levels of red and white blood cells, and high numbers of tube-shaped particles called cellular casts.

To know if your kidneys are functioning properly the best way to tell is to have a urine test and blood test done to check for problems with the kidneys that show up in blood and urine.

The urine test checks for a protein called albumin, which isn't routinely detected when your kidneys are healthy.

Also if you're peeing normally then your kidneys are likely functioning properly.
