The difference between baby soap and baby shampoo is baby soap is made to wash the baby's body and baby shampoo is made to wash the baby's hair although you can also safely use baby shampoo to wash your baby's body as well.

The baby soap and baby shampoo are just different formulas of soap product.

Babies don't need special body wash although because a baby has more sensitive skin it's best to use special baby body wash that is formulated with safer ingredients for baby's sensitive skin.

But you can use regular body wash on your baby as long as they don't break out with any skin rashes or other skin reactions.

Dove baby body wash is safe and is formulated for baby's and young kids sensitive skin and it's even safe for adults to use as well.

You can also safely use Johnson baby shampoo on the baby's body as Johnson Baby Shampoo is gentle on both the baby's hair, scalp and their body.

You can wash a baby's hair as soon as they are born although it's best to use only plain water and most babies won't need their hair washed until a few weeks after birth or even a month after birth.

The most recommended baby shampoo is Aveeno Baby Wash and Shampoo, Pipette Baby Shampoo, Baby magic Gentle hair and body wash, CVS health baby wash and shampoo and Johnson's Sensitive care baby body wash and shampoo.

A typical hospital will wash your newborn baby in Johnson & Johnson's baby shampoo.

Most babies will only need their hair washed two or three times per week, although it's okay if the baby needs their hair washed a bit more often.

You'll know when your baby's hair is dirty and could do with a wash.

If the baby's hair doesn't need shampooing, you don't need too, just gently rinse their head with water and a soft flannel.

Even if your baby suffers from cradle cap, shampoo isn't necessary and might make the problem worse.

A soft oil or moisturizer works far better and won't damage delicate skin.

Until shampoo is used on a baby, their hair does not need it.

Hair adjusts to being washed by shampoo, it strips away natural oils.

It's best to use plain water for newborn babies.

Then you can start using unperfumed baby bath and shampoos from about 4 to 6 weeks, but be careful to only use a little so you don't damage your baby's skin.

Babies with longer hair may need a drop of mild shampoo on wet hair, lathered and rinsed off.
