You cannot put Hokas in the washer as it can damage the glue and shorten the lifespan of the Hoka shoes.
The manufacturer of Hokas recommends that you hand wash the Hoka shoes and then dry them by air drying them and not in the dryer.
To wash your Hokas you should hand wash them with a soft brush and mild soap and allow them to dry out naturally.
The agitation of the washing machine and heat of any water or even the heat of the dryer can weaken or melt the glue used to bond the different parts of the shoe and lead to premature wear and tear of the Hoka shoes.
Some types of shoes can be washed in the washing machine but Hokas should not be washed in the washing machine.
You can get smells or odors out of your Hokas by spraying the entire Hoka shoes down with some Shout Spray and then soak them in some water and then scrub and rinse and allow to air dry.
You can determine whether or not your shoes are washable by checking the care label, but as a general rule of thumb, it's best not to machine wash any shoes that are made from animal-based fabrics, like leather or suede.
When properly cared for Hokas should last between 300 miles to 500 miles.
