Stage 1 kidney disease does not usually feel like anything as some people have stage 1 kidney disease and don't know they have it until they are tested.

The indications of stage 1 kidney disease are higher than normal levels of creatinine or urea in the blood.

Blood or protein in the urine.

Evidence of kidney damage in an MRI, CT scan, ultrasound or contrast X-ray.

A family history of polycystic kidney disease (PKD).

It takes on average of 10 years for kidney disease to go from stage 3 to stage 4 although it may happen sooner.

The length of time it takes to go from stage 4 to stage 5 kidney disease is on average of 4.2 years although it may happen within 1 year.

The life expectancy of a person with stage 5 kidney disease is between 5 to 10 years on dialysis and without dialysis the life expectancy of a person with stage 5 kidney disease is 2 to 4 weeks.

With dialysis some people have lived up to 20 years with dialysis with stage 5 kidney disease.

A person with stage 4 kidney failure can live for around 2 weeks to 4 weeks without dialysis although some people may live a longer or may die sooner.

Without dialysis toxins build up in the body and death eventually comes.

Stage 4 kidney failure is terminal without dialysis or a kidney transplant.

Stage 4 kidney failure is one of the most serious stages of kidney failure and death will usually occur within a few weeks or so if you fail to get dialysis or stop dialysis or don't get a kidney transplant.

Kidney failure is a serious health issue which is when your kidneys have stopped working well enough for you to survive without dialysis or a kidney transplant.

When you have kidney failure your kidneys have lost their ability to filter waste from your blood.

Kidney failure is also called end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) or end-stage renal disease (ESRD).

Without dialysis or a kidney transplant you will eventually die as toxins build up in your body.

Decreased urine output, although occasionally urine output remains normal.
Fluid retention, causing swelling in your legs, ankles or feet.
Shortness of breath.
Fatigue.
Confusion.
Nausea.
Weakness.
Irregular heartbeat.

Kidney disease can be detected in urine through urine tests as well as blood tests.

Kidney disease means your kidneys are damaged and can't filter blood the way they should.

You are at greater risk for kidney disease if you have diabetes or high blood pressure.

If you experience kidney failure, treatments include kidney transplant or dialysis.

The 3 early warning signs of kidney disease include.
