The skin condition Keratosis Pilaris is caused by a buildup of a protein called Keratin.

The protein keratin protects the skin from infection and other things that are harmful to your skin.

When the protein Keratin builds up it makes a plug and blocks the hair follicle openings and it's not known what exactly triggers the buildup of the protein but doctors have suggested that if you have constantly dry skin you're more likely to have breakouts of Keratosis Pilaris.

Exfoliating the skin regularly can help prevent the buildup of keratin and prevent Keratosis Pilaris outbreaks and even applying some apple cider vinegar to the Keratosis Pilaris can help get rid of Keratosis Pilaris.

You can also use an oatmeal skin rub or olive oil skin rub on the Keratosis Pilaris.
