There is such a thing as sugar withdrawal.

Sugar withdrawal is a real thing and real phenomenon that occurs in some people.

When someone who regularly consumes a large amount of sugar suddenly or when they reduce or eliminate their sugar consumption suddenly, the person may experience symptoms of sugar withdrawal.

Symptoms of sugar withdrawal include fatigue, headaches, irritability, cravings for sweet foods, nausea, anxiety, muscle aches and even difficulty in concentrating.

Although the severity and the duration of the sugar withdrawal symptoms can vary from person to person and the persons previous levels of consumption of sugar.

Often symptoms of sugar withdrawal peak within a few days of reducing sugar intake and then gradually the sugar withdrawal symptoms subside over time.

It's also important to note that the sugar withdrawal symptoms are not a medical condition, although the sugar withdrawal can be uncomfortable.

Although if you do experience any severe or persistent sugar withdrawal symptoms, it's a good idea to see a doctor just to be safe.

Most people though will be okay as they withdraw from the sugar and the symptoms of the sugar withdrawal should go away on their own.
