To Jumpstart a car you can use either another vehicle using jumper cables or a portable Jumpstart Battery.
To Jumpstart a car with another car or vehicle, pull the other vehicle up in front of the vehicle or to the side where the jumper cables will reach both vehicles batteries.
Then open the hood of the other vehicle and of course the hood of the vehicle with the dead battery.
Then locate both the batteries and the battery terminals one each vehicle.
Take the Jumpstart cables or jumper cables and ensure that the other ends are not touching each other or it can short the battery out.
First connect the red positive cable to the positive terminal on the dead battery and then connect the other positive end of the jumper cable to the positive battery terminal on the car with the good battery.
Then connect the negative "black" jumper cable end to the negative terminal of the batter in the vehicle used for jumpstarting, and then connect the negative terminal of the jumper cable to an unpainted metal part of the car that you're jumpstarting.
When the car or vehicle used for jumpstarting the dead battery in the other vehicle pulls up, leave the engine running while connecting the battery cables.
Then get into or have the other person in their car that is running, rev there engine a little at a time to increase the RPMS and increase the charging of the battery.
Have the other car that is jumpstarting your vehicle keep the engine RPMS up for a few minutes and then try to start your vehicle.
Once your vehicle is started you can then remove the jumper cables by removing the positive cable first on each vehicle and then remove the negative cables to prevent arcing.
Then close the hood and leave your vehicle running after you jumpstarted it and if the battery is bad you should replace it as soon as possible.
If using a jumpstart battery pack you simply connect the positive cable to the positive battery terminal and the negative cable to the negative battery terminal and turn the battery jumpstart pack on.
Then go into your vehicle and try to start the vehicle and it should start but if not the battery may be too dead to jumpstart.
