It's very normal for cats to sometimes pant like dogs do.
It could be that your cat has anxiety, fear, is excited or just too hot.
Environmental changes can also cause a cat to pant like a dog but unless it's excessive panting then there's usually nothing to worry about.
If the cats panting like a dog does seem excessive then the cat could have something else wrong with it or is in distress and you may need to take the cat to see a vet about it.
