A person should begin recovering short term within 4 to 6 weeks after the hip surgery was performed.
When the person has recovered short term from the hip surgery they should be able to walk without assistance and without walking aids and be able to walk at least two blocks without any pain.
Full recovery from hip surgery however can take 2 to three months.

It seems to me that this is individual. For example, young people recover faster. because they have faster regeneration, it also depends on your lifestyle and how you followed the doctor's recommendations.
