The best wheel bearing grease is Lucas red wheel bearing grease as well as Valvoline wheel bearing grease.

Red grease is often used for lubrication for wheel bearings, conveyor systems, roller bearings, electric motor bearings and various machinery and equipment.

Red grease is also compatible with hydraulic brake fluids and is used to protect and lubricate rubber components and seals, pistons and sleeves in the brake systems and it's also often used for rubber and preventing damage and corrosion and preserving rubber parts.

Red grease is also often used in marine environments for boat trailer wheel bearings, trailer wheel bearings, steering cable connections and outboard motor tilt mechanisms and in automotive wheel bearings, suspension systems, chassis, and universal joints.

The color red of the grease is often an indication that the grease has high temperature resistance, which makes the red grease suitable for applications in which grease needs to withstand heat.

You can mix red and black wheel bearing grease but it's not recommended especially if using the red and black wheel bearing grease in wheel bearings that travel at high speeds such as on trailer wheel bearings and vehicle wheel bearings.

Red and black wheel bearing grease is not compatible with each other and so it can cause issues with the wheel bearings if mixed together, especially in high speed wheel bearings such as on trailers and vehicles.

Mixing the red and black wheel bearing grease together can cause the wheel bearing grease to soften, harden and even have other undesirable changes and affect the performance and could lead to premature wheel bearing failure.

Different types of grease, even the grease that is used for wheel bearings can have different additives, thickeners and base oils which can lead to incompatibility when they are mixed.

And mixing red and black grease and other incompatible greases can also alter the physical properties of the grease including consistency and impact the performance characteristics such as extreme pressure protection and lubricity.

It's best to use a single type of grease when greasing wheel bearings to avoid any issues.

When working with and greasing wheel bearings, it's best to use a high quality wheel bearing grease such as lithium complex grease that is often compatible and effective for various bearing and wheel bearing applications.

And although the color of the grease can sometimes offer you clues about the type of grease it is, such as lithium complex or clay based it's not a guarantee that they are compatible and so it's best to avoid mixing of greases.
