Is it safe to burn wood with paint on it?

I have an old shed I'm tearing down and want to use the wood from it in my wood stove for this winter for heat in my house but I'm unsure on whether it's safe to burn the painted wood in my wood stove or not.

Would there be any harm done to me or my stove if I burned painted wood in the wood stove?

I've burned painted wood before in my wood stove and have had no problems except for a little bit more smoke coming out of the chimney but other than that everything was okay when I burned painted wood in my enclosed wood stove.

Now it wouldn't be safe to burn painted wood in your fireplace since the painted wood could put out toxic paint fumes into your house which can cause health problems.

But as long as the wood stove is enclosed with a door the painted wood should be safe to burn in your wood stove although you may void your wood stoves warranty if you have a warranty on your wood stove.

I've burned some painted wood too in my wood stove this winter and it was just fine.

Never got any toxic chemicals coming out inside the house etc.

I don't burn painted wood all the time because I mostly burn firewood that I buy but I had some scrap painted wood from a remodel and decided to burn it in the wood stove instead of throwing it away.

I haven't gotten sick or caused any harm to my wood stove or house after burning the painted wood.
