When your bird feeder is empty every morning it can be other animals such as squirrels stealing the bird seed.

Birds may also be eating the bird food too quickly or there are lots of birds eating the bird feed every morning.

The most common reason for a bird feeder to be empty every morning when the birds are not eating from it are squirrels climbing up to the bird feeder and eating the bird seed.

Birds will also sometimes avoid bird feeders due to hygiene issues, and presence of predators or even a change in the birds natural food sources.

I've found that when my bird feeders would become empty every morning it was squirrels that were eating the bird feed and emptying the bird feeder.

You can use a squirrel baffle to make the bird feeder significantly more practical and stop squirrels from eating the bird seed.

Squirrels are very notorious for raiding bird feeds and they can very efficiently and quickly empty the bird feeders and may even damage the bird feeders in some cases.

Squirrel baffles should be at least 4 to 5 feet off the ground and the feeders also need to be at least 5 feet above the ground and around 7 plus feet from any branch, shrub or anything a squirrel could jump from.

Squirrel baffles for bird feeders work by either widening the feeder pole or creating a steep angle, or even providing a space where squirrels cannot gain traction to climb.
