A heart murmur can make you tired and weak.

A heart murmur will cause you to feel weak or tired and cause you to be short of breath, especially when exercising, cause chest pain, skipping heartbeat, and or a fast and or pounding heartbeat.

Many heart murmurs don't need any treatment and aren't a cause for concern.

But if a murmur is caused by a more serious condition, you may need.

Medications, such as iron to correct anemia or drugs to slow the thyroid gland.

Surgery to correct or replace a valve.

When you have a heart murmur you should eat heart-healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, lean meats, and low-fat or non-fat dairy foods.

Limit sodium, sugars, and alcohol and get some exercise as well if you're not exercising already.

A heart murmur is a blowing, whooshing, or rasping sound that is heard during a heartbeat.

The sound with a heart murmur is caused by turbulent (rough) blood flow through the heart valves or near the heart.

Some heart murmurs are harmless (innocent).

An innocent heart murmur is not a sign of heart disease and doesn't need treatment.

Other heart murmurs may be a sign of a serious heart condition.

Tests are needed to check the heart and heart valves.
