How long do window Air Conditioners last?

Question

My house has no ac and I can't afford to buy a new one right now.

I see on craigslist there's a 5 year old window ac for sale for $50.00 which retailed new for $200.00

Is it worth buying this 5 year old window ac and if so how long should I expect this used window air conditioner to last?

Window ac's should last at least 10 years. If it works I'd buy it for that price.
