A six month old should eat at least 2 to 3 spoonfuls of solids at least 3 to 4 times a day.

The soft and mashed food given 3 to 4 times a day will give the baby the nutrients they need.

Foods that a 1 year old should be eating are bananas, yogurt, meat, eggs, dairy, poultry, chicken, fish without bones, chickpeas, legumes, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, oranges, green vegetables and other fruits.

Babies can eat meat around 6 months of age and older when they are eating solids.

However be sure to cut the meat up small enough so that it is easier for the baby to chew and eat and to prevent choking.

Foods that cause gas in babies are onions, spicy foods, peppers, garlic, beans, spinach, kale and sometimes oatmeal.
