Briggs & Stratton engines are still very reliable engines even when they are made in China.
However the USA made Briggs & Stratton engines are of better quality and will likely last longer than made in China Briggs & Stratton engines.
Briggs & Stratton engines when well maintained and have the oil changed and spark plug changed once a year can last around 15 years to 20 years.
Using gasoline without ethanol can also help extend the life of the Briggs & Stratton engine.
I use nothing but Briggs & Stratton engines and have used some other brands including Tecumseh and Honda and will always prefer the Briggs & Stratton engines and they're easier to work on as well.
