Some Briggs & Stratton engines are now made in China although the majority of Briggs & Stratton engines are still made in the USA.

Briggs & Stratton has manufacturing facilities in the United States, China, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Mexico and even the Netherlands.

To reduce costs Briggs & Stratton has moved production of some of their engines.

However the majority of Briggs & Stratton engines are made at plants in Missouri, Georgia, Kentucky and Alabama.

Briggs & Stratton engines are still very reliable engines even when they are made in China.

However the USA made Briggs & Stratton engines are of better quality and will likely last longer than made in China Briggs & Stratton engines.

Briggs & Stratton engines when well maintained and have the oil changed and spark plug changed once a year can last around 15 years to 20 years.

Using gasoline without ethanol can also help extend the life of the Briggs & Stratton engine.

I use nothing but Briggs & Stratton engines and have used some other brands including Tecumseh and Honda and will always prefer the Briggs & Stratton engines and they're easier to work on as well.
