Briggs and Stratton engines are better than Honda engines although Honda engines are pretty reliable engines when also kept well maintained.
I've always had better luck out of Briggs and Stratton engines than I've had with Honda engines or other engine brands and Briggs and Stratton are also easier to fix and source parts for than Honda and other engines are.

However the USA made Briggs & Stratton engines are of better quality and will likely last longer than made in China Briggs & Stratton engines.

Using gasoline without ethanol can also help extend the life of the Briggs & Stratton engine.
I use nothing but Briggs & Stratton engines and have used some other brands including Tecumseh and Honda and will always prefer the Briggs & Stratton engines and they're easier to work on as well.
