To get rid of a diaper rash in 24 hours you can add some baking soda to some warm bath water and allow the baby to soak in the baking soda bath for 10 minutes or so a few times a day.

Then dry the baby's bottom off and apply some Zinc Oxide like Desitin or other diaper rash cream or petroleum jelly and allow the diaper area to air dry as much as possible.

Make sure to change diapers frequently and cleanse the diaper area gently.

Avoiding using harsh wipes when wiping your baby's bottom.

You can use a mild hydrocortisone cream on diaper rash although long term use of hydrocortisone cream could cause side effects.

Regular diaper rash cream is often the best for most diaper rashes which are formulated and safe for baby's of any age.
