The blind spot when referring to your eyes is the small area that is in your field of vision where you can't see because it lacks light detecting cells which are cones and rods where you optic nerve enters your eyes.
Everyone has a spot in their retina in which the optic nerve connections.
In the spot in the retina where you optic nerve connects there is no light sensitive cells, so this part of the retina you cannot see.
It's called the blind spot.
The blind spot is not often noticeable because your two eyes work together to cover up each eye's blind spot.
A scotoma is also known as a blind spot in your vision which is the area you cannot see.
The blind spots may be large or small and can be temporary or permanent.
A scotoma can also move around to different places in your visual fields.
There are no photoreceptors (i.e., rods or cones) in the optic disk, and, therefore, there is no image detection in this area.
The blind spot, small portion of the visual field of each eye that corresponds to the position of the optic disk (also known as the optic nerve head) within the retina.
