Ocala Florida and Marion County is also home to around 35,000 thoroughbred horses as well as 1,200 horse farms and training centers.
The area of Ocala Florida also hosts several national as well as international horse competitions, which also include the Horse Shows in the Sun (HITS) Ocala Winter Circuit and the Live Oak International.
And it's also home to the World Equestrian Center which is a major equestrian complex.
Ocala Florida is also a well known training ground for champion horses which include Horses of the Year, Breeder's Cup champions and the Kentucky Derby winners.
Ocala Florida also has the Florida Horse Park which is an official training site for the U.S. Equestrian Team and hosts nationally recognized 3 day events and also international and Olympic level equine sports competitions.
Ocala Florida also has attractions such as the College of Central Florida, Rainbow Springs State Park, Silver Springs State Park and the Ocala National Forest as well as it's own Hollywood Walk of Fame which honors equine champions that are connected to Ocala and the county.
There is also the Santos Mountain Bike Trails that are south of Ocala Florida.
