Do you save gas if you drive slower?

Does driving your vehicle slower than the speed limit save you gasoline and improve your gas mileage?

If you speed over the speed limit then you're actually using more gasoline by speeding.

But just driving slower than the speed limit you won't save much if any gasoline by doing so.

Drive at the speed limit or at least keep up with the other vehicles on the road. Driving lower than the speed limit could actually get you into a car crash.
