Demeclocycline is used for low sodium in people with hyponatremia and also in cases of the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion also known as SIADH.

Demeclocycline is a tetracycline antibiotic which is used off label to treat hyponatremia which is a ocndition in which the sodium levels in your blood are abnormally low.

Demeclocycline also known as declomycin is used for treating a wide variety of bacterial infections and even the bacterial infections that cause acne and it works by stopping the growth of bacteria and can only treat bacterial infections.

The mechanism of action of declomycin is to bind to the 30S ribosomal subunit and prevent the binding of aminoacyl tRNA which inhibits bacterial protein synthesis as well as inhibiting the renal action of antidiuretic hormone ADH.

Declomycin also known as demeclocycline inhibits bacterial growth instead of directly killing the bacteria and is also known as a bacteriostatic agent.

Declomycin also known as demeclocycline is used for treating a wide variety of bacterial infections and even the bacterial infections that cause acne and it works by stopping the growth of bacteria and can only treat bacterial infections.

Demeclocycline may make your skin sensitive to light and may increase your risk of sunburn so you should avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, and wear sunglasses, sunscreen and protective clothing.

If you get a sunburn when taking demeclocyline you should let your doctor know as soon as possible.

The side effects of demeclocycline "which can be serious" include swelling of the face, throat, lips, tongue and eyes, peeling or blistering skin, hives, rash, ringing in your ears, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of vision, seeing double and headaches.

If you do experience any of these side effects when taking demeclocycline you should call your doctor right away or go to the ER.

The length of time that it takes for demeclocycline to work is 2 to 5 days but on occasion can take longer.

The onset of action of demeclocycline is not predictable although it often occurs after 2 to 5 days but may take a bit longer.

The effect that demeclocycline has on the kidneys is that demeclocycline can cause azotemia which is reversible and even nephrotoxicity, especially in people that have cirrhosis.

When taking demeclocycline renal function should be monitored on a regular basis and if increasing azotemia is found then demeclocycline should be discontinued.

Demeclocycline can also cause nephrogenic diabetes insipidus by inhibiting the action of antidiuretic hormone (ADH) in your kidneys and can lead to increased urine output and the inability to concentrate your urine

Demeclocycline is a derivative of tetracycline that has a chlorine atom at a specific position and leads to different uses and properties which include the ability to block the effect of vasopressin.

Demeclocycline is a tetracycline antibiotic but not the same as tetracycline.

Tetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic which is used to treat a lot of different bacterial infections and works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis and can cause side effects such as vomiting, diarrhea, nausea and photosensitivity.

Tetracycline should be taken on an empty stomach, except for doxycycline and minocycline and it can cause teeth discoloration in children.

The generic name for demeclocycline is demeclocycline hydrochloride and is also known as Declomycin which are antibiotic tablets that treat bacterial infections which include the bacterial infections which cause acne.

Demeclocycline is a tablet that is taken by mouth and is often taken 2 to 4 times a day.

When taking demeclocycline you should drink a full glass of water with each dose and take demeclocycline on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after meals.

Demeclocycline is a tetracycline like antibiotic can also increase urine production and output so it can be seen as a diuretic.

Diuretics are medications that promotes diuresis which is the increase in urine production and excretion.

Demeclocycline is currently used in treating hyponatremia in people with SIADH, in which it can restore the plasma sodium concentrations to normal levels.

Demeclocycline is also used for therapy of mild to moderate infections as a result of susceptible organisms.

The side effects of demeclocycline on the kidneys include the inhibition of antidiuretic hormone ADH in your renal tubules.

The action produces nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, which results in polyuria and the inability to concentrate urine.

When taking demeclocycline it can make you sunburn more easily than normal.

So when taking demeclocycline you should avoid tanning beds and sunlight and wear protective clothing as well as use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher when you're outdoors.

And avoid taking any multivitamins, iron supplements, antacids, laxatives or calcium supplements too close to the time when taking demeclocycline.

The onset of action of demeclocycline is not predictable although it often occurs after 2 to 5 days but may take a bit longer.

The medications and supplements that interact with demeclocycline are laxatives containing magnesium, iron supplements, calcium supplements, calcium, aluminum and antacids containing magnesium.

Taking these supplements with demeclocycline makes the demeclocycline less effective.

You should also take the demeclocycline  2 hours before or 6 hours after taking antacids, laxatives containing magnesium and calcium supplements.
