To release pressure from your ear you can try chewing some gum, yawning or swallowing which can help to open up the eustachian tubes and release the ear pressure.

You can also try taking a deep breath and then try blowing out of your nose gently while also pinching the nostrils closed and keeping your mouth closed.

If you hear a popping noise then you have opened the eustachian tubes and have released the pressure on your ears.

If you don't hear a popping noise then the eustachian tubes haven't opened and the pressure in the ear hasn't been released.

So you will need to try again.

Most times you should be able to release the pressure from your ears the first time.

Your eustachian tubes normally open up when you swallow or yawn.

When the eustachian tubes open up it naturally equalizes the pressure in your middle ear.

But if the eustachian tubes become blocked or narrowed as a result of a condition or disease then you will often feel pressure in your ear which does not go away naturally.
