Fronds in English is a leaf or leaflike part of a palm tree or fern or similar plant.

The leaves of palm trees and fern trees are called fronds.

The fingers on leaves are called pinnules.

A compound leaf is a leaf where the leaf blade is divided into multiple leaflets instead of being a single and undivided blade.

And each individual leaflet in a compound leaf is called a pinnule and when leaflets radiate out from a central point like fingers from a hand then the leaf is called a palmate.

Some examples of plants with palmate leaves include Aesculus buckeyes and hemp or Cannabis.

Another word for tree leaves is foliage.

Other names for tree leaves are leafage, greenness, Verdure, Umbrage, Frond, Blade, Shrubbery, Herbage, frondescence, flora and ferns.

Fronds is a name for the leaves of palm trees.

The 4 main shapes of palm fronds are entire, costapalmate, palmate and pinnate.

Pinnate shaped palm fronds resemble the shape of a feather, which leaflets that are arranged on either side of a central stalk.

Palmate palm fronds have a fan like shape, with leaflets that radiate from a central point.

Costapalmate palm fronds often have a round or oval shape with leaflets which may be somewhat divided.

And entire palm fronds are undivided or whole and lack the distinct leaflets of pinnate or palmate fronds.

Fronds and ferns don't have seeds instead they reproduce sexually through tiny spores or sometimes even reproduce vegetatively.

While palm fronds don't have seeds the palm trees to produce seeds in the palm tree fruit.

Most palm trees produce flowers and seeds annually and the palm seeds are located inside the fruit also known as the seed pod or seed capsule.
