Some vinegar does have sulfa in it.

The vinegar that contains sulfa are rice vinegar, malt vinegar, cider vinegar and wine vinegar.

Rice vinegar contains naturally occurring sulfa or sulfites as a result of the soil that the rice is grown in and the fermentation process.

Malt vinegar contains less than 10 ppm of sulfa or sulfites.

Cider vinegar contains between 10 to 50 ppm of sulfa or sulfites.

Wine vinegar contains 50 to 100 ppm of sulfa or sulfites.

Sulfites are compounds which help to prolong the life of foods and beverages.

In order to preserve foods the sulfa or sulfites release a gas called sulphur dioxide.

This gas can contribute to allergy-like symptoms by irritating the airway in some people.
