You can survive TB or Tuberculosis and most people survive TB or Tuberculosis with treatment.

People who are most at risk for tuberculosis are those Foreign people including children who immigrated within the last 5 years from ears with a high Tuberculosis incidence and people within close contact of people exposed to contagious cases of Tuberculosis and people who already have a weakened immune system or other lung issues.

Tuberculosis is caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

The bacteria usually attack the lungs, but Tuberculosis bacteria can attack any part of the body such as the kidney, spine, and brain.

Not everyone infected with Tuberculosis bacteria becomes sick.

Treatment for tuberculosis (TB) will usually involve a long course of antibiotics lasting several months.

While Tuberculosis is a serious condition that can be fatal if left untreated, deaths are rare if treatment is completed.

Tuberculosis usually affects the lungs, but it can also affect other parts of the body, such as the brain, the kidneys, or the spine.

A person with Tuberculosis can die if they do not get treatment.

Active, drug-sensitive Tuberculosis disease is treated with a standard 6-month course of 4 antimicrobial drugs that are provided with information, supervision and support to the person by a health worker or trained volunteer.

The vast majority of Tuberculosis cases can be cured when medicines are provided and taken properly.

Tuberculosis disease in the lungs or throat can be infectious which means that the bacteria can spread to other people.

Tuberculosis or TB in other parts of the body, such as the kidney or spine, is usually not infectious.

People with Tuberculosis disease are most likely to spread it to people they spend time with every day.

The median of survival time after successful treatment for Tuberculosis is 10.5 years and survival probability for 11 years after successful treatment is 70%.

Furthermore, previous Tuberculosis treatment, high age, suffering from kidney failure and cancer were predictors of mortality after successful treatment.

Tuberculosis is spread through the air from one person to another.

The Tuberculosis germs are passed through the air when someone who is sick with TB disease coughs, laughs, sings, or sneezes. If you breathe air that has TB germs, you may get TB infection.

This means you have only dormant (sleeping) TB germs in your body.

Up to 13 million people in the U.S. have a latent TB infection, and without treatment, they are at risk for developing full-blown TB, a bacteria that usually attacks the lungs but can also damage other parts of the body.

TB is a top infectious disease killer worldwide.

Active TB can be very harmful to your health, but it can be cured with a course of medicine.

If you have latent TB, the TB bacteria in your body are 'asleep'. You are not ill and you cannot pass TB on to others.

However, the bacteria might 'wake up' in the future, making you ill with active TB.
