June 21st which is the first day of summer will be the longest day and after June 21st which is the summer solstice the days will start to get a little shorter everyday after that until winter solstice which is the shortest day.
Then after the winter solstice the days will begin to get a little longer again each day.
The days start to get shorter by around 32 seconds and then gradually increase to losing a minute of daylight each day.
I hate when it gets dark out earlier as it feels like the day is gone before I get off of work in the winter.
