A puppy should be taken to the vet for the first time at 8 weeks of age to get a checkup and have any shots performed.
You can wait until the puppy is 10 weeks of age if needed before taking the puppy to the vet but the earlier the puppy gets taken to the vet for shots and a checkup the better health the puppy will be in.
The earlier you take your puppy to the vet the earlier the vet can catch something wrong with the pup and fix it if needed.
