To get rid of your pet gecko you can look for reptile rescue places or herpetological societies.

Also you could put the pet gecko on facebook marketplace or Craigslist and state that you're trying to find it a home.

Someone may be out there that wants a pet gecko and will take it off your hands.

Facebook groups are great for finding a home for and getting rid of your pet gecko and you can look for a local pet or reptile rehoming group on facebook groups and should have no problem finding a new home for the pet gecko.

Geckos naturally lose their tails through a process called autotomy but it doesn't hurt a gecko when it loses it's tail although a gecko often experiences some amount of stress after they lose their tail.

But it's not painful for a gecko to lose it's tail as they feel no pain during the tail losing process which is naturally designed to be minimally painful as it's a natural defense mechanism and is called autotomy in which the geckos tail breaks off at a predetermined point with minimal blood loss.

Geckos can and do also fart and spiny tailed geckos also use their smelly fart to repel snakes with.

A spiny tailed gecko uses their farts which are very stinky to repel snakes.

Even leopard geckos and crested geckos and other geckos can and do fart.

The cheapest reptile to own is a Leopard Gecko as they are inexpensive to purchase and also have low costs of food and housing.

Leopard Geckos often cost $30.00 to $200.00 depending on who you buy it from and the color morph.

They are very easy to care for and require a simple setup with minimal lighting and heating needs.

A crested gecko is also another cheap and easy to care for reptile to own.

The best lizard for a kid is a Leopard Gecko or a Crested Gecko.

Leopard Geckos as well as Crested Geckos are very popular lizards for kids and they are very easy to care for and have a docile nature.

Both Leopard Geckos and Crested Geckos are able to tolerate handling and make them great pets for beginner reptile owners.

Leopard Geckos are easy to handle, very harder and passive and are also not intimidating to children and can also be tamed easily.

However they are prone to runaway as they also have good speed.

Leopard Geckos primarily eat insects such as roaches, mealworms and crickets and they average in size of around 7 to 10 inches long.

Crested Geckos are also easy to care for and keep and come in a range of patterns and colors.

Crested Geckos are also sensitive to high temperatures and also eat a mixture of insects and specialized crested gecko foods.

Crested Geckos are also small and relatively fragile.

Other good lizards for kids are Blue Tongued Skinks and Bearded Dragons.

Bearded Dragons are lizards which are also non aggressive and calm and are friendly and easily respond to their owner's voices and can be taken out of their cage.

Blue Tongued Skinks are docile and easy to handle as well as being low in maintenance although they can also grow large.

Most lizards live for 10 years or longer depending on the species and they should also have a properly sized habitat with proper lighting and heat.
