Both heat exhaustion and heat stroke are serious and can be life threatening but heat stroke is the worst of the two.

If you do have heat stroke you do need to call 911 or get medical attention right away.

Heat Stroke can kill you much quicker than heat exhaustion although both are serious and you should seek medical attention for either one of them.

If you need to work outside in the heat you need to go inside an air conditioned place if possible at least every hour and take a 30 minute break to cool off.

Staying out in the heat for too long can be deadly and some people don't take it as serious as it really is.

But the heat can actually kill people so do take breaks from the outdoor heat.

As much as I love being outside I'm grateful I work in an air conditioned office where I can stay cooled down.

I hate being cooped up in the office on nice cool days but during the heat of summer I love it more and I'm glad I don't have to be out working in the hot sun.

Another thing that can happen if you do get heat exhaustion or heat stroke is you could suffer from brain damage as well.

Some places will have their outdoor workers work earlier in the morning hours and then quit for the day or come back and do some more work when the temperature cools down in the evening.
