If you've broken a nail or lost it somehow the nail should start to grow back within a month but can take up to 6 months to fully grow back.
Nails have a growth rate of one tenth of an inch per month so it can take a minimum of 6 months to grow back but I've had it take 1 full year before to fully regrow a nail after losing it.
