Triamcinolone is an intermediate acting steroid which has a half life of around 18 hours to 36 hours.

Following a single I.M. dose of 60 to 100 mg of triamcinolone acetonide, adrenal suppression occurs within 24 to 48 hours and then gradually returns to normal, usually in 30 to 40 days.

Triamcinolone reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions.

This medication is a medium- to strong-potency corticosteroid.

Triamcinolone acetonide which is sold under the brand name Kenalog among others, is a synthetic corticosteroid medication used topically to treat various skin conditions, to relieve the discomfort of mouth sores, and by injection into joints to treat various joint conditions.

Triamcinolone topical is used to help relieve redness, itching, swelling, or other discomfort caused by skin conditions.

The medicine triamcinolone is a corticosteroid (cortisone-like medicine or steroid) which is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Do not use triamcinolone on skin areas that have cuts, scrapes, or burns.

If it does get on these areas, rinse it off right away with water.

If you or your child are using the spray form on or near the face, protect your nose to avoid breathing it in and make sure that your eyes are covered.

The triamcinolone medicine does not work right away.

Some people will feel this medication working within 1 day, but it may take up to 1 week before the full benefit of this drug takes effect.

Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects from using triamcinolone, including: stretch marks, skin thinning/discoloration, acne, greatly increased hair growth, small red bumps on the skin (folliculitis).

Skin infections can become worse when triamcinolone is used.

The combination of nystatin and triamcinolone is used to treat fungal skin infections.

It relieves itching, inflammation, and pain.

This medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

Triamcinolone isn't meant to be used long-term, so ask your doctor how long your treatment should last.

Talk with your doctor if you've been using triamcinolone skin products for more than 2 weeks to see if it's still appropriate to continue treatment.

A course of treatment with triamcinolone for seven days is usually sufficient.

If your symptoms have not improved after this time (or if they get worse), speak again with your doctor for further advice.

Topical corticosteroids like triamcinolone should not be used for long periods of time or on large areas of the body.
