While Straight Line Winds and Tornadoes can seem similar and can do similar damage they're different.
The difference between a Tornado and a Straight Line wind is that in Straight Line winds there's no rotation while in Tornado there is Rotation.
Straight Line Winds also originate from a Downburst during a thunderstorm while tornado doesn't originate from a downburst.
