When you're in violation of some traffic laws you usually get from 2 to 4 points on your license for minor offenses and for more severe violations you can get as much as 7 points on your license in some places.
It can depend on the State you live in as to how many points you need to actually have your license revoked but if you get 12 points on your license within a 3 year period then your drivers license is usually suspended for a period of 60 days.
Then if you get more points on your license soon after the 60 day suspension is up then you usually lose your license again and maybe for good.
Laws can vary from State to State so if we knew what state you're in then we could give you a more accurate answer.
