You cannot become incontinent by wearing diapers.

If wearing diapers made you incontinent then toddlers and kids and anyone else would be incontinent as we all wore diapers as babies and toddlers.

Babies however are incontinent from birth as they have no bladder control or bowel control but as they age they begin gaining bladder and bowel control and can then hold it in until they can use the toilet or their diaper.

You might weaken your bladder some by using diapers instead of a toilet but you can easily regain that loss of bladder control.

Incontinence can happen for many reasons, including urinary tract infections, vaginal infection or irritation, or constipation. Some medications can cause bladder control problems that last a short time.

When incontinence lasts longer, it may be due to: Weak bladder or pelvic floor muscles.

There are four types of urinary incontinence: urgency, stress, functional and overflow incontinence.

Behavioral therapies, medications, nerve stimulation and surgery are some of the treatments available for managing urinary incontinence.
