Dad's Bathtub Selfie with Daughter Lands Him in Hot Water

I was over on parenting.com and saw this article about a dad getting in trouble for posting a photo of himself with his daughter naked in the bathtub.

I think the picture is cute. But I say he should've kept it off the internet. Nothing good will come of posting photos like that on the internet. 

The Short of It

Danish comedian and dad Torgen Chris is being taken to task for posting a picture on social media of him and his toddler daughter taking a bath together.

The Lowdown

Chris posted the picture—which shows him naked (his private parts are covered in the shot) in the tub playing with his 2-year-old daughter—to Facebook, where it quickly started going viral, thanks in large part to the comedian's caption.

"Listen: It's OK for children and adults to be naked together," he wrote. "If we could not bear to see each other naked, we would have been born with clothes on."

Discussing nudity is nothing new for Chris, whose one man show 'jydelogik' is a critique of the supposed Danish fear of nakedness. After pointing out society's exaggerated fear and apprehension of letting adults be naked around kids during one of his recent shows, Chris said several men got in touch with him. They thanked him for bravely exposing the matter and shared that they often felt under suspicion from people who had seen pictures of them bathing with their daughters in bathtubs.

"There is nothing wrong with a dad washing his daughter's butt and private parts while she is a child," Chris said in his post. "Rather, it is very disgusting if nobody does it, and unfair if only the mother does. Nudity with your child is not disgusting, it's natural."

It was okay that he was in the bathtub with her. But it was NOT okay for him to post that picture online.

Pictures like that should stay private.

I'm with Mechanic. That pic should have stayed private. Personally with the way the laws are now a days I wouldn't even want any nude photos of my kids let alone pics of the kids nude with me.

I don't need any nude photos of my kids. Personally I don't find nude kid, baby, toddler photos cute at all.

I feel disgusted when I see a naked pic of a child.

There's so many perverts lurking on the net that there's bound to be some perv masturbating to that photo of the girl in the tub with her dad.

I'd be pissed if I had found out my parents placed photos of me nude in the bath like that on the net for all to see.

Some photos should never be shared on the net or with the world and that's one of them.

I see nothing wrong with the picture nor anything wrong with him taking a bath with her. Nakedness is a natural thing. We're born into this world Naked.

I think it's okay for families to see each other naked as long as there's nothing sexual going on towards the child.

But I do agree with keeping those kind of photos off the internet. Too many perverts out there that could be using the photo for bad things.

As long as the dad hadn't molested her or anything bad I hope he doesn't get charged just for that picture of him taking a bath with his young daughter.

I personally think the photo is cute and will make a good keepsake photo for her when she's older.

I don't personally know the dad, but it looks to me that he's a great dad to her. He's taking care of her like he's supposed to.

I know some guys are uneasy about washing there daughters but they really shouldn't be if they aren't touching them for bad reasons.

My dad bathed my sisters, and he had to touch them in private areas to get them clean.

Same with my dad cleaning me when I was a baby/toddler.

My mom and dad used to bath me until I was 8.

Nothing wrong with it.They had to otherwise I wouldn't have taken a bath. lol

They saw me naked when I was a baby and why should it matter if they saw me naked later on in life.

Other animals go around the world naked.
