Air conditioners use a lot of power so you need enough amp hours for the batteries and more than one battery connected to ensure the air conditioner keeps going.
The solar panels should also be enough so that they provide more power going into the batteries than going out.
Running an AC or air conditioner with solar panels can be a good idea for saving money and the environment although you have to ensure you have enough solar panels and battery power to keep up with the air conditioner.
A central AC can also be run off a big enough solar system but it can be costly.
To efficiently run a central AC unit will require installing at least 3 kilowatts (kW) of solar panel output.
Because most residential solar panels generate around 100 watts, 30 panels would be needed to generate this 3 kW of power.
